Visit with Grimms!

We met the Grimms for lunch at the Mall of Georgia on Sunday and Ellie and Emma went home with them for a few days. On Monday they all went to a water park in Helen, GA and had a blast! We met back up on Tuesday for lunch and a movie (Inside Out) and I brought the girls home. Perfect quick little summer trip! I can't believe how much the girls have all grown!!!

Mom (Nick's) Milestone Birthday!

Last night we went to Carraba's in Peachtree City and celebrated my mother-in-law's and her brother's milestone Birthdays!!! She turned 75 and he turned 70! Johnny and Gail's daughter, Beth, put the whole thing together and designed this incredible cake that was a timeline of their life! The left half represented Johnny's life, and the right side represented Rita's. On mom's half, it began with her birth and highlighted things like her faith, her basketball career, and her independence as she went off to college (notice the car with one passenger). Wedding rings and a little car with two people represented her getting married, and then a car with 4 people in it represented them having kids. It included a picture and some coins from Peru to represent her mission trips and a marathon sticker to show her running races. On top, there was a graham cracker beach with sea shells to represent their place at the beach. It was awesome to see some of mom's side of the family. It has been way too long! We used to see them once a year, but as our family grew, it got more difficult. It was great catching up with mom and dad, Lisa and Darren, and Kaylen! We finally got to meet her handsome boyfriend, Dennis. He's such a great guy!!! They both are in the restaurant business in Charlotte. She's a pastry chef and he's a cook. When I asked Lisa what she's been up to, it blew me away! She has run about 3 or 4 marathons. She's now training for a 50 mile race for her 50th Birthday! Part of the training includes running a half marathon and then a marathon. She fell down a flight of stairs the day before the 1/2 marathon and got up and ran it in the cold and rain the next day. The following day every ounce of her body ached and she could hardly breath! Darron took her to the doctor and it turned out she ran a 1/2 marathon with a broken tailbone and a broken rib. Who does that??? The girl is hardcore!!! It only took her body 2 weeks to heal. The Nicholson's are made of iron, lol! On the way home Ellie and Emma were talking about how much fun they had! I love it, they haven't seen most of mom's relatives since they were babies, but they are all just so warm and kind, that the girls just lapped up the love:)

Look what I found in my freezer!

I open my freezer and what do I find? FROZEN BODY PARTS! I looked at Emma and said, "So, what's this?" She said, "Oh Drew had this great idea..." Yeah, the boys used to blowup and freeze their army men when they were little and I'd open my freezer to find frozen body parts! Now they are doing it with the girls' barbies! Do little boys ever grow up??? Emma filled me in on the whole scoop. Apparently, they drug Barbie and Ken behind the golf cart, burned them with sparklers, used them as human softballs, duct taped them back together, and finally froze them... Lovely, my kids torture toys! Hmmm, should I be concerned???

Zinn's visit on Friday's!!!

They usually meet us at the pool and swim while I teach lessons, but Ellie has swimmers ear, so they came over and played games (Clue, Trouble...) while I was at the pool teaching lessons. I believe Hannah (on the left), who is Emma's age, outgrew them all.

Ellie and Emma went to the Atlanta Zoo with Laurel and Julia Thomas.

Ann Thomas invited the girls to go to the zoo with her daughters on Monday. It was 99 degrees that day. I was teaching swim lessons all day, so at least I was in the water. Despite the heat, the girls had a great time!

Buster turned 15 Years old on 6/18/15

Father's Day!

We started the day with breakfast at Dunkin Donuts... The girls made Keith a card:) Later we headed to the pool and then back home for lunch. After lunch the kids played corn hole and went for a golf cart ride. Then we grilled out dinner and watched some youtube videos of the boys' band!
