St. Patrick's Day neighborhood social at the clubhouse!

Lane Creek social committee threw a St. Pattie's Day party Saturday night with BBQ, Brunswick Stew, Beer, and live entertainment. The weather was gorgeous! This has been a fulfilled busy weekend! Friday night engagement party, Saturday afternoon tennis match, Saturday evening Ellie had a sweet 16 party to attend and we had a neighborhood social, and now Sunday we're cleaning house, catching up on laundry, and I'm taking the girls to see The Greatest Showman! I heard the movie was great!!!

Drew and Hayley's engagement party at The Globe!

All the bridesmaids threw an engagement party for Drew and Hayley at the Globe in downtown Athens on Friday night. Emily's mom, Edie, made a delicious cake for them. I met Hayley's dad and brother and sister before, but I finally got to meet her sweet mom, Jackie! I already love that family! I see where Hayley gets her sweetness from! Dad, Dawn, Jeannie, and Jay came in town for the event. It was a lot of fun! Laurel prepared a game for Drew and Hayley to play. She had them sit back to back in a chair and take off their shoes. She would ask them a question and they would have to hold up the shoe of the person that had the attributes she described. They agreed on most things, lol, it was pretty funny! I think everyone had a great time!!!

In memory of mom...

Saturday we met all the kids for lunch and then carpooled to Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell where my sister is buried and my mom's ashes are spread. We met dad, Matt and Lindsey, and Greg and Brandy there. Afterwards we went to Jeannie's and watched a video that we made for mom for her 70th Birthday a few years ago. It was full of songs and memories from her childhood all the way to her 70th Birthday. We also had photos of her all around and made a memory tree of some of our favorite memories and some of her pearls of wisdom that constantly dripped from her tongue. Then we had a time of sharing that was so heartwarming. We laughed until we cried. Oh and the grandkids had such sweet memories they shared. Mom was an amazing woman, full of talent and wisdom and made an incredible impact on every life she touched. Dad wasn't able to share what he wrote, so Natalie read it for him. Oh My Gosh, my dad is an amazing writer and wrote the most beautiful things. I need to ask him to make me a copy. After we shared, Keith said a beautiful prayer and we ate together. Comfort food... BarBQ chicken and pulled pork, slaw, mac and cheese, baked beans, and sweet tea. At dark we all wrote notes to mom on lanterns and lit them and sent them up to heaven...
It was an incredible day of honoring mom! I know she was there, laughing and crying along with us...
