We did a little more decorating at Ty and Em's!

I found a table runner, a few window treatments, some pillows, and a throw at Big Lots. It just seemed to tie everything together. There's a few more window treatments we want to do and we want to paint over the kitchen border, but that will have to wait until another time.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Fei and Ray came in town to see the girls!

Fei and Ray were the girls' mentors in the UGA mentoring program for several years while they attended UGA. Since then, Fei has graduated and works for ESPN in Connecticut and Ray has 6 months left of interning for his Pharmacy degree in Savannah, GA. They came in town this summer and stopped by to see the girls. They were able to stay for dinner before they had to head back out of town. Keith and I adore them as much as the girls do. Fei brought the girls some surprises back from her recent trip to Disney Land in California.

Emily and I had fun decorating her and Tyler's home!

My daughter-in-law and I had so much fun decorating her place with stuff I just had packed away in my attic. It really made the place feel more homey. She was so pleased, which made me sooooo pleased. She's going to paint the border in the kitchen (basically erase it with some leftover yellow paint I found in my garage) and then we'll add some window treatments and voila... her house will be her home!

Summer is winding down... one last sleep over!

This morning Emily (Nicholson) came over to hang out with the girls. She wanted to spend some time with them before they started back to school and she started back to work. Emily and I scrounged through my attic and she picked out some things to decorate her house with. Tomorrow I'm going over
to help her find a place for it all!
Tonight Laurel and Haley (and Steven) came back to hang out one more time with the girls before school starts. We made fajitas and rice and played Pictionary. They're gonna stay the night for a sleepover!

Game Night!

Laurel and Haley came over for dinner and game night tonight. Ellie and Emma love them and never want them to leave. (Oops! Laurel was behind the board, I didn't get her in the picture. I'm a terrible photographer!)

Home Sweet Home

While I've enjoyed traveling and vacationing with friends and family this summer, I think I'm ready to get back to a routine. I am a homebody at heart. I like sameness, predictability, routine. I enjoy waking up in the morning and sipping coffee on my deck, running my little route through the neighborhood, curling up in my favorite spot to read, moments with my boys as they come and go just long enough to grab some food, a shower, or harass the girls. I love chatting with my husband when he comes home from work over a glass of wine while I cook dinner, sitting around the table eating home cooked meals with my family, putting the girls to bed at a decent hour and having time to snuggle and watch TV with Keith. My home is my sanctuary, my little slice of heaven on earth.
