Two of the new FSE's Keith recently hired game him these gifts!!!

I'm so proud of one of my tennis student's, Rowdy (my friend, Kelly Mendiola's son). He just won his first green ball tournament!

I taught Rowdy and his little brother Elijah swim lessons and recently started teaching Rowdy private tennis lessons. He was using the "orange ball" and it wasn't challenging enough, so we introduced him to the "green ball", the next level up. He decided to enter his first tournament... and a green ball tournament at that! He actually placed 2nd. He's a natural athlete like his mom! I'm so proud of him. He's a hard worker and always has a smile on his face. He's been taking group lessons at tennis for life where I used to work. He's only 8, I can't wait to see how he progresses!

2 bulls a cow and a calf got loose on HWY 15 when I was coming home from teaching tennis...

I saw them near the road and pulled into a driveway and knocked on the door to tell them their bulls/cows were loose. No-one answered, so I went back to my car and the big white bull started charging towards me. I ran as fast as I could to my car and jumped in. It was terrifying! I called 911 and they contacted the owners and got them back into the pasture.

Ellie wanted bangs, so we looked it up on youtube and I cut her some bangs! Turned out super cute!

A friend, whose a boy, knows Ellie loves BTS and brought her 3 BTS Hot Brew's to work!

Natalie and Brian went to Hilton Head to celebrate their 5th anniversary!

Unfortunately, a grumpy neighbor in my neighborhood got my swim and tennis lessons closed down in Lane Creek...

After 16 years of teaching swim lessons in Lane Creek, and just 6 months of teaching tennis lessons, a grumpy neighbor complained to Mike Powers, the owner/developer of our subdivision, that I was using the neighborhood courts and pool for my private business purposes. This "Karen" did not stop complaining until Mike agreed to send me a certified "cease to exist" letter.

The board was not in agreement with Mike Powers decision and we sent him a letter explaining that the only reason I even teach the neighbors in Lane Creek is because neighbors saw me teach my own kids swim and tennis and offered to pay me to teach theirs. Then, over the years, happy parents spread the word to their friends, who in turn contacted me. It has been in service to the Lane Creek community that I agreed to teach swim and tennis.

The board posted Mike Power's decision on Lane Creek Facebook and the neighbors were furious that they were shutting down neighborhood swim and tennis lessons that benefit the whole community because of one grumpy neighbor. Unfortunately the HOC's hands were tied because Mike Powers has the final word until he sells the last piece of property in LC.

A sweet neighbor offered me her private pool to finish out the summer teaching swim lessons. Now the pool and tennis courts are completely empty as I drive by each day. I only used one of the two courts. The other court was almost always empty and there has never been anyone waiting for a court to open. I usually teach about 3 hours a day 3 days a week, which is the amount of time I would usually occupy the court to hit with a friend. And as far as swim lessons, I only taught 1 child at a time, never group lessons, so I took up the space that a parent would take up teaching their own child. And I only taught 3 days a week in part of June and part of July when not traveling.

I'm at least thankful for the years I was able to teach. It has made Lane Creek feel like family to me allowing me to get close to all of the kids and their parents... It has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

All of my tennis clients want me to continue, so I will find other courts to teach tennis on, while these courts sit empty. And I will finish out swim lessons this summer in our neighbor's pool, but then retire teaching swim.

PCB - July 2021

Marge tried to keep us from leaving, but we had to go...

Keith had a 2nd interview with a company that reached out to him...

Baby frogs at Mark and Sam's

Lunch at Brass Tap and shopping afterwards... girl time!!!

Mark and Sam's adorable pups: Ace and Jacks!

And their cool pool, with floating lounge chairs!!!

Even though it rained a lot, the evening of the 4th of July, we grilled out and then walked to the beach and watched the fireworks... one of the best I've ever seen and the weather was amazing... nice cool breeze all night!!! We watched from the beach pool deck overlooking the beach. There was only a couple of people on the deck and I think we had one of the best views!

Emma saved a turtle in the middle of the road!
