The dining room and living room were our summer projects for 2025!

 

Emma and Sam’s 4 month anniversary!

Emma and Sam love cooking together and celebrated their anniversary by cooking for us! They don’t drink, so toasted with Welches Sparkling Grape Juice!

We will probably put a tv on the wall above the table. I kinda liked this piece because it reminded me of a fireplace and mantle. It’s simple and kinda farmhouse/rustic like the rest of the room. This room was empty and we called it the puppy room, but bit by bit it’s becoming one of our favorite rooms in the house.

Recovery is coming along…

 

My surgery was a success!!!

 Answered prayers!🙏🙏🙏 I’m so grateful that the root of my meniscus wasn’t torn and the surgeon was able to just trim it and clean the meniscus up. Because the root was attached, instead of wearing a brace for 6 weeks with a rough 6 month recovery, it will be a much easier and quicker recovery. He said I will feel good, so don’t overdo it. I will take it slow and follow the doctor’s orders however. I have physical therapy this Friday! Also he said the arthritis in my knee is very minor!

Ellie went for a 6 hour hike today up and down a mountain in Nagoya!

 

I’m so impressed. It is super hot there and to climb 3 hours up and 3 hours down is insane!

Quick trip to Alabama to do a little work on the farm…

The farm is so peaceful and beautiful! However, there’s snakes and spiders and Coyotes, oh my! We dropped by to visit Scott’s parents who live on a beautiful farm ten minutes away from the other farm with the camp houses and lakes where people pay to hunt and fish. As we were leaving, I came inches from stepping on a snake 😳🐍, It wasn’t poisonous, but it still freaked me out. I jumped and screamed and took off running pretty fast for someone with a torn meniscus! I guess I’m a city mouse 😂. 

After the close brush with the snake, I drove the gator and Scott got out and cleared the brush, changed the batteries in all the cameras, put out deer lick, filled all the deer feeders, and fed the fish in the lakes. He wore snake boots. It’s not his first rodeo, lol.

My favorite thing besides fishing and gator rides, is just sitting on the back porch in the rockers or on the swing. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. The mornings are quiet and you can see the fish jumping and beautiful birds flying over the water. The reflection of the sky and the trees in the water is breathtaking. The frogs and crickets really get going some nights. On clear nights you can see a million stars in the sky. And I love all the fruit trees… pears and crabapples and there’s also some pecan trees too!
