We met the sweetest family at the beach...

Our last trip to the beach this summer was relaxing... incredibly hot, but relaxing. We probably spent more time indoors than outdoors. We rented lots of movies, played cards, the girls watched animal planet, Keith did crossword puzzles, I finished one novel and started another, and the girls and I practiced our sign language... (as I learn, I'm teaching them).

The beach was pretty quiet this week, which I prefer, but we did meet a sweet family staying a few condos down. Let me see if I can get all the names right... Chad, Cheryl, Lauren, Chad Michael, Taylor, and Nicki. The girls instantly wormed their way into this family. Since Ellie and Emma have 3 older brothers and a sister-in-law, they're pretty comfortable hanging out with young adults.  When they saw them come to the pool, they swam up to them and joined in the conversation. Emma made herself comfortable with the girls by climbing right up on their floats with them. She decided it would be good for the boys to learn to dive, or at least learn some of her cool jumps. She had them doing pencil dives, cheerleading jumps, ballerina twirls, bottom dives (sit on the side and dive in), squat dives, and standing dives. Meanwhile, Ellie was having float races with the girls. She told them she'd go easy on them.

We had such a great time with them, we all went out for pizza the last night and then for ice cream! Sometimes when you meet people, it feels like you've known them all your life... they're just easy and comfortable to be around. That's how this family was. Too bad they live all the way in Indiana.
