Friday night, me, Shannon, Judy, and Amy all met at our neighborhood tennis courts and played doubles for a few hours. After that, we headed to Shannon's house where she had a crockpot of chicken tortilla soup and lots of munchies prepared for us. Shannon is such a great hostess! We had a big night planned... We were gonna try different signature drinks, listen to music, play games, and watch netflix... Shannon's husband was out of town and she had the brilliant idea that we should have a girls night/sleepover at her house. After we pigged out, Amy, the mix master, made us each a different signature drink. We all went into the keeping room with our drinks and grabbed a blanket and turned on the tennis channel... just for a minute... We all fell asleep by 10:00. So much for all our grand plans, lol, we are such partiers!!!
Me and Shannon/aka, "Buni" (Amy's nickname for her) Cocoa Buni is Amy and Shannon's favorite beer. Shannon is our "Happy Place!" Life and joy exudes from her every pore. She is the yin to my yang. She floats, I pull her back down to earth. I am uptight and ultra organized and she's a laid-back, hippie chick, but probably gets more done than I ever do! My friend, Suzanne, is the same way... I need people in my life that remind me to chill and enjoy life...
Judy (Smart/sweet Judy is a professor at UGA and has the sweetest southern drawl you've ever heard, and a heart to match!) She has an amazing story that I won't share, but a heart of forgiveness that is remarkable! Beautiful soul...
Amy/"Shooter" (That's Judy's pet name for her) She was our mix master that night, but didn't drink the poison! She stuck to her Cocoa Buni beer! When she mixed our drinks, I was like, "Wait, don't you want to measure that???"
Amy is a straight shooter! She is NOT a hugger, just so you know, lol. But I can get away with yanking her ponytail and dodge a punch to the face, lol. She is one of the toughest women I know. You gotta be when your only child fights cancer from the age of 10. This woman is so strong and amazing!
Saturday night was Brad's 50th Birthday Bash! Brad Johnson was Ginger's boyfriend for 5 years before she passed. He's been our brother ever since. His precious wife, Jenni, has been so gracious and understanding of us! We adore her and have adopted her as well. Each of us have celebrated our 50th Birthday's in a big way... Baby Nat, you're next!
I was talking to Beth, Brad's sweet sister! Love her!!!
Me and my honey!
Leslie, Brad's sister-in-law, sang for us! My little sister Natalie, was the little "sorority" sister of Leslie, whose big (biological) sister is Jenni, Brad's wife... I know, confusing:)))
My beautiful sisters... And Jeannie's hubby, Jay!
Our lil' bro Brad!
Family picture... Nat's hubby, Brian, is missing. And Brad's sweet wife, Jenni!
