His house is 30 years old and we have been remodeling it and redecorating each room in and outside the house for a year and a half. We actually made a list of all the things that needed to be done from replacing gutters to painting the deck to basically redoing every room little by little. It also required cleaning out old stuff that was broken or outdated and rearranging rooms. We put everything on a little piece of paper and folded it up and put it in a cup. When we’re ready, we will randomly draw something from the cup and start on that project. It’s been fun! Scott loves decorating as much as I do and he really likes that I like to shop at thrifts and bargain hunt and try to use what he has and just change out as few things as possible. I wish I had before pictures, but I don’t have many.
The outdoor lights really needed replacing. Some were falling off. We had a long punch list for the electricians. They spent all day here yesterday putting up all new lights outside, centered under cabinet lights, put in 4 outlets and hid tv wires, replaced 3 ceiling lights… It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but it made a house difference to the outside of the house by replacing lights. They have some kind of sensors so they come on automatically when it gets dark and turn off when it gets light. We didn’t realize they did that when we picked them out. He said he needs to replace the front doors next, I think we’re gonna get black ones. But that will have to wait until 2026.
