This poem is about the book "I Am Malala". Malala was only 14 and stood up for educational rights for girls. She was shot in the head by the taliban and somehow, miraculously survived. Though half her face was paralyzed, that didn't stop her. She continued to fight, and won!!! The poem reads like a rap song...
I am Malala, I fight for education
Then I got put in a bad situation
Getting on the bus
No one had a fuss
It was an unusual quiet day
Because no one had anything to say
Suddenly the driver stopped the bus
With two men standing in front of us
As there were two standing men
The bus was so silent you could hear the drop of a pen
"Where is Malala?" as the man leaned in
Everyone by now thought speaking was a sin
Pointing at me, everyone surprised
He held the gun and looked into my eyes
All I remembered was it ending with a bang
Hearing the bullet as it rang
Thinking I passed as the man was grinning
Oh no, it's only just the beginning
Emma's Social Studies teacher was so impressed with it, that she asked her to read it to all the other SS teachers!
