Emma and her classmates performed their recorder pieces for the parents on Friday. Emma is in the red t-shirt. This was also field day for the kids.
Emma also received an award for perfect attendance all year! She has always loved school and hates to miss!
Some UGA football players helped out with field day. Emma got her shirt autographed and said she's never washing that shirt again, lol. I said, "What were their names?" She said, "I don't know, but they were really tall!"
Later, Emma and played tennis and worked on our serves. I'm trying to learn a jump serve. Emma filmed me so I could see what I'm doing. Yep, the coaches are right... my contact point is too low, argh!!! The service motion is so complex and the hardest thing to master!
My serves are consistent and I can place them well, but I want to add more power/pace. I'm still a 3.5, but I've been practicing with a 4.0 team lately and playing mixed doubles... it has motivated me to want to amp up my serves!
After playing tennis, Emma and I went to the pool. (Ellie was still in school.) She got home just in time for the ice-cream truck, which comes every Friday afternoon.... so she drove the golf cart down to the pool and joined us for ice-cream!
The girls are both taking advanced classes next year. Ellie will be taking a college coarse in 10th grade, and unfortunately will have loads of homework over the summer in preparation for it. I can't even relate, lol!
After the pool, Keith took the girls to Ellie's softball game and they won again! They are undefeated!!! I stayed home and made Philly Cheesesteaks for the crew to eat after the game. They turned out very yummy, if I do say so myself!!!
