Busy season...

Tyler and Emily recently moved in with us. The owner of the house they have been renting for a few years decided to sell it. They are now looking for a house to buy. Emily is off for 2 weeks for Christmas break and will be looking at houses. Such an exciting, and yet stressful time!

Drew has been busy with projects for his welding classes. He just finished up his fall semester at Athens Tech and just has 1 more to go! Next semester will be his hardest, but he is really loving it and very good at it!

The girls volunteered at their school's to do Secret Santa. Emma brought a gift for a 10 year old girl. She wanted a pink long sleeve polo shirt. Ellie volunteered, along with 2 other classmates, to buy a longboard for a 14 year old boy. She said she wanted to spend her Birthday money to buy it for him. The teacher called around and found that the Academy had the best price. Only 30.00! When we got there, it was actually 80.00. They had it in the wrong place. I talked to the manager and told him that we called and they said it was 30.00. He said, well it was in the wrong place, we made a mistake. I told him that my daughter volunteered to spend her own money on a longboard and she doesn't have 80.00. The secret santa is due on Monday and we promised a 14 year old child a longboard. He said, give it to her for 30.00! Some little boy is going to be so excited on Christmas morning!!!

Last week I went to Chops and Hops with about 10 of my neighbors. We called it GLO "Girls lunch out", our version of "Guys night out". We have such great neighbors in this neighborhood. We are having a neighborhood Christmas Party in the next few weeks. Speaking of parties... one of my tennis teams had a Christmas party already, and 2 of my other teams will be having Christmas parties in the next few weeks. Emma has already been to a friend's Christmas party, but still has her 4th grade class Christmas party that I'll be helping with. The girls' piano teacher, Ms. Wendi, is also hosting a Christmas party at Anne Peden's shop.

Tonight we are celebrating Ellie's Birthday with her favorite dish, Chicken and Dumplings, an ice-cream cake that the boys bought for her, and then were going to see Christmas lights and Santa. Tomorrow I'm playing with my friend, Kelly, in another tennis tournament. Then that evening, Ellie will be attending her "friend", Ben's,  Bar mitzvah.
