After the tennis luncheon Friday, Amy got the girls off the bus for me, and Emily and I went shopping for Ty's Christmas surprise. Emily got off work early that day. We grabbed us a peppermint mocha from Starbucks to get us in the Christmas spirit and then headed for the thrift shops, good wills, consignment shops, and habitat for humanity. We are having so much fun trying to pull this off on a dime. We are putting it all together this next week and the big reveal will be on Saturday! I will take pictures and blog them...
Anyway, while we were "hunting", I found the cutest little kitchen for Maggie! I called Nat and asked her if she wanted me to pick it up for her for Christmas. I sent her pictures through the phone. She was so excited and said, "YES!" The workers had just put it out on the floor when I got there, so I grabbed the tag off of it (that's how you claim furniture you want to buy) and then took picts and called Nat. While Emily and I were still shopping, they called over the speaker, please come to the front if you have the tag for the kitchen set. Emily heard them and said, "That's you, go to the front!" I went up there and several people were standing around the little kitchen set wanting to buy it. The lady said, "Okay, I just wanted to make sure that there was a buyer and that the tag didn't fall off. Several people are wanting to buy it". I said, "Sorry, it's sold." Look how cute it is! It's even got a little chalkboard on the side for grocery lists or menus. Yippee! I love good finds:)
Emily and I lucked up and found some awesome treasures! We had a list and found almost everything on it. I did my shameful bargaining, as usual. I warned Emily that it won't be pretty, so if I embarrass her, she can just walk away. Hee hee... I'm my father's daughter!
