I love to learn from my children...

Several weeks ago a young man (college age) came to the door and wanted to sell his company's pressure washing service. He did his speech and I said, "I'll have to check with my husband. You can call later and I'll let you know." While he was talking, I noticed sweat rolling down his face. Meanwhile Ellie, who was standing beside me disappeared and then in a few minutes reappeared with a bottle of water. She handed it to the guy and said, you look really hot and sweaty. He seemed really moved and thanked her. Yesterday he called to followup. I told him that my husband said we are in the middle of adding on to our deck right now and this wouldn't be a good time. The young man said that he understood, then he went on to tell me that I had a sweet little girl. He remembered that she brought him water. It made me think of a few scriptures...

Let the little children come to me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it.

For I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink... Lord when did we see you thirsty and give you something to drink?... I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

Michelle..that is the sweetest thing!! I love how no one told her to go get him water, she just did it out of her loving heart.Wow..we can really learn from her. She saw a need and immediately meet it. How many times do we see a need and just pass by it?? Love ya sweet Ellie!
