Once again, my sister Dawn, and her husband Jim were the most hospitable host and hostesses! To start off the weekend, Dawn and Jim graciously gifted all the ladies with an hour and a half massage at Wang’s! It was so relaxing and amazing!!! The guys hung out and drank beer and watched football in the theater room. When all the ladies returned, a bunch of us swam in the heated pool or soaked in the hot tub! Then we all got ready for the evening! The theme this year was 1920’s! We all had fun dressing up and got lots of fun pictures!
Last year Alex and Leah, and Drew and Hayley came, but unfortunately they weren’t able to make it this year. But Tyler and Emily (who couldn’t come last year) were able to make it this year.
Dawn and Jim recently put in an elevator, which was not only convenient, but fun!π
After dinner, Jim asked the teens what movie they wanted him to rent for the theater room and they choose Taylor Swift’s Live Concert! It was 3 hours long and they loved it! The adults hung out playing pool, poker, watching football…
There was something for everyone!
Gotta give a shout out for all the meals! NYE lunch, sliders, dinner, manicotti, spaghetti, French bread, and salad!
And of course we all brought amazing appetizers to graze on throughout the night!
At midnight we all gathered with champagne and toasted bringing in 2024! (Even the kids toasted with nonalcoholic champagne!!! πΎπ₯πππ₯³
Seriously, there was nothing that was left out! The Duryea’s know how to throw a party! πππΎπ₯π₯³
After we brand in the New Year, we sang and danced and blew horns in each others ears, lol!
We missed Natalie and Brian this year, they had concert tickets! We joked about why it seemed quieter this year, lol, oh, our baby sister wasn’t her! Lol, the life of the party!π€£
However, Will and Maggie’s dad, Ray, was able to come! It was really great seeing him!
At about 1:00 am 2024, people started winding down and turning in. A handful of us didn’t want the celebration to end, so, (Rebecca and Emma, Tyler and Emily, Ellie and James, Matt and Lindsey, and Scott and I) got in the hot tub for a little while, then Scott and I retired and the rest of them stayed up and raided the kitchen until 4:00am!ππ€¦♀️
The next morning we had breakfast; then Scott and I went for a run through the beautiful neighborhood. We got back and had a fabulous lunch with honey baked turkey, honey baked ham, yummy collards, amazing Hoppin John, and delicious cornbread!!! (The Nicks used to cook like that every time we came for a visit!!!)
After lunch, we did a white elephant gift exchange! It was a an incredibly fun weekend!!!
