Outside we're all just ordinary jars of clay... but what if we took the time to look inside?

My 18+ 7.0 Mixed Doubles team went to state this weekend. We came in 3rd!
Mixed doubles is so much fun! We all stayed at the Fairfield in on the same floor. Shannon, as usual, was my roomie. Lu Champer was on the team this year. She's the women's softball coach at UGA, just named coach of the year. Shannon is to the left of me in the picture above and Lu is to the right.
4 of my mixed teams qualified for state this year, but only 1 was brave enough to take on the challenge of playing in Valdosta in August. One afternoon match, the court temp was 108 degrees. Our team was 9-0 this season. We had 5 girls and 3 guys that went (one of the guys in the picture was Sonja's husband, he's not on the team). So the guys had to play 2 matches a day. Also, Shannon had to play 2 matches a day because she was the only 3.0 girl and only one that could play with the 4.0 guy. The rest of us are 3.5's. Also, Damian was there with his 8.0 mixed team too, so he had to play 4 matches a day! Had 2 of our 3rd set tie breaks gone our way instead of the other team's, we would have come in 1st place and gone to the finals. Oh soooooo close. Oh well, we'll get them next year.
