Outside we're all just ordinary jars of clay... but what if we took the time to look inside?

Friday five o'clock foursome... Happy hour at the Lane Creek courts. (1 beer is my limit when playing tennis)
The torch has been passed. Lucky me, I'm the new tennis committee chair person for Lane Creek. I guess I'll have to start going to the Home Owners meetings, lol. I've been trying to avoid being on committees... I always volunteer my help, but when they ask, I say, "Please don't make me in charge!" I've sideswiped the pool committee, garden club, adult social director, kids social director... but alas, I decided to swallow the pill and get it over with.
I didn't want to post this picture because I really hate this pic of me, but I want to remember this incredibly fun evening with these special friends... Amy, to the right of me... well, I guess if you are looking at the photo, she's on my left. (Gal in Pink) She's my 3.5 doubles partners for one of my teams. Her son has leukemia. She is a nurse for cancer patients, so she knows the statistics. Just need to say, this woman is an inspiration!!! She is uplifting, grounded, and amazing... Her child asked to play for the first time in 4 years the other day and she started crying... He's Ellie's age and has had cancer since he was 10. Feels like poo all the time and has never been able to enjoy a typical childhood. So many close calls where they have been down on their knees. Okay, maybe I gave you too much of a glimpse, but just so you know, you can never judge a book by it's cover. When I 1st met her, I thought, what a fun and positive woman. Now that I know her story, I'm amazed at her strength and love!
