Outside we're all just ordinary jars of clay... but what if we took the time to look inside?

My loud and crazy household
The girls and I were sitting at the kitchen table having lunch and all the boys were home. We heard loud thumps and crashes upstairs. When the boys get together they can get rowdy and wrestle each other. I yelled up for them to cool it. Ellie said, "They're just bonding right mom?" (I've told her before, that's how boys bond instead of playing dolls together). (More thumps, crashes and laughing.) I yelled up again, "That's enough guys!" (House still shaking.) Ellie said, "They're not obeying are they mom?" Then Emma said, "Are you gonna send them to the pound?" Poor baby heard me threaten to send Drew's dog to the pound this past summer every time he chewed the furniture or pee'd on the carpet... It's amazing what children puts together in their minds. As funny as that comment was, I knew their was some insecurity behind it. I reassured her that we don't send people to the pound when they disobey. I reminded her that no matter what our kids do, they will be our kids forever. Then I said it as plainly as I could... "that means no matter what you do, I'll never send you away. You're mine forever!" She gave me a big hug!
