Fall is in the air

Fall is my very favorite season! The cool weather is always a welcome relief from the long hot summer. The girls loved helping me put up the Halloween decorations this week. This will be an exciting year because for Emma, every holiday will be her first. We got out the bug catcher kit the other day and were catching interesting bugs. We caught a spider, a walking stick, a grass hopper, a lizard, and even a bee. Keith happened to get home from work a little early that day and was able to join us on our hunt. Later we had dinner on the deck and afterwards sat around the firepit. We try to take advantage of the beautiful weather at the first hint of fall by going to the park almost everyday after I pick up Ellie from school. Too soon this perfect weather will turn cold.
We had our annual fall picnic with our Chinese playgroup (AAFCA) last Sunday afternoon. The kids played on the playgrounds, fed the ducks in the lake, played with bubbles, and ate lots of yummy food. Ellie and Emma's mentors Fei and Ray were able to join us. They are so wonderful! After the picnic, we visited the little zoo right there at the park.
Today Ellie's friend, Alison came over and we made pumpkin patch pies. Their favorite part was the sprinkles. Emma kept sticking her tongue in the sherbert. So much for being sanitary. That little booger is quick and into everything. She got into my makeup and nail polish this morning. (She actually did pretty good).
