Ellie is going to visit James in Japan right after Christmas for 2 weeks
Ellie’s boyfriend, James, moved to Japan to study abroad for a year. Ellie is going to Japan to study abroad this summer, but had the opportunity to visit James for 2 weeks right after Christmas. Both Ellie and James are minoring in Japanese. Ellie was a little worried that the internship in Atlanta that she just landed would object since she is starting in January, but they were excited for her and told her to enjoy herself!
Our baby girls are growing up way too fast!!!
Busy weekend in Athens… decorated for Christmas with the girls and went to UGA orientation with Emma!!!
Had to make a Walmart run in the middle of decorating because we needed more lights. Emma saw a grinch costume for sale and decided to try it on and put on quite a show!🤣🤣🤣
Keith put up the outdoor lights and wreaths on all the windows Saturday morning after Emma’s all day orientation Friday.He did such an amazing job, as he does every year!
UGA Orientation started at 7am and ended at 5:30!😳😳😳
It was long, but so informative and made me feel so much better about the security on campus. Her apartment style dorm is on one end of the campus and while it’s a better dorm, it’s farther from the freshmen classes and downtown. If she is uncomfortable walking anywhere at dark or feels unsafe, she can request a security escort to walk with her wherever she needs to go.
Though the huge campus can be daunting, there are so many resources to help the students navigate their way around. And soooo many clubs, activities, services that she could get involved in. Emma is such an extrovert and met so many people today! She is over the top excited about this next big adventure!
She will move into her dorm in January. And thanks to our sweet neighbor, Todd, across the street, who is in charge of UGA parking, Emma got a coveted parking space, which is highly unusual for freshman! (I think that last sentence may be a run on sentence!🤦♀️🤣)

Ellie got the internship in Atlanta!!!
A few weeks ago Ellie’s professor convinced her that she would be perfect for this internship and encouraged her to apply for it. It will look amazing on her resume and it could potentially lead to a great job! They have been producers for 30 years and are starting their own company. She will be in on the ground floor, so as their first editor, as the company grows, she could possibly be lead editor. She is beyond excited. They already have 2 television shows they are working on. They said that although Ellie would learn a lot from their years of experience, they are counting on her leadership for navigating all the current platforms like, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook. Ellie has lots of experience on all of those platforms. I’m so happy for her. She works so very hard! She just heard today that she got the internship!
Ellie is done with her major, but decided to minor in Japanese. She will be studying abroad in Japan this summer. She’ll start her internship in January for Rainbow Heads Productions and will mostly work remote.
On a side note… I walked in the bathroom 3 times today and each time I saw a bright beautiful rainbow. First time it was on the side of the tub, second time on the floor, and third time on the wall. I touched it everytime I saw it and the 3rd time I said, is there some kind of message in this? Then Ellie called and told me she got the internship and was over the moon. I asked her what the name of the company was and she said, Rainbow Heads Productions. I love the little winks we get from above!!!🙏❤️
