Our Christmas gift to our kids this year was a family trip to Lake Jocassee!

This was one of the best family vacations we've ever had. And that's saying a lot because I was sicker than I have been in a long time, and I rarely get sick!!! Maybe that was God saying,
"Slow down Missy! The work is done, now just sit back and relax... enjoy!" And I did!!! Being knocked on my butt actually allowed me to relax, curl up in a recliner by the fire, and watch my family play and have fun together. My heart exploded all weekend, and I often teared up at how blessed I was to have such an amazing family... My heart is still overflowing...

Even though I was sick, I was still able to canoe and kayak when the sun came out. The big kids, and their other halves, took turns cooking dinner for us each night. OMG, I got 3 nights off from cooking dinner!!! The boys enjoyed the camrodery of gathering firewood and keeping the fire stoked. The girls had to keep the crazy boys in line, as usual, lol! Every evening, Keith and the boy's played guitar and sang, and of course, we all played games every night. We brought sooooo many games! We played darts, Uno, LRC, Rumicub, Scattergories, Monopoly, 5 Second Rule, and If You Had To... (a few games we had to vote hilarious, but inappropriate for the youngen's, hahahahaha)

Each morning we had a big breakfast, then fished, kayaked/canoed. Then we came back in for lunch and played games and gathered around the fire...

On NYE, my 5 daughters all had fun playing with make up and doing each other's hair. They all looked gorgeous!!! We celebrated Drew's 29th B-day, he's my NYE baby! We brought in the New Year with a dance party and toasting champagne!!!

The weather was perfect all week. On New Year's Day, all the kids kayaked across the lake to the waterfall and went hiking. Keith, me, and Ellie, went kayaking around the lake... Keith and Poppy picked up the UGA game on Emily's new iPad that night. The week flew by way too fast!!!

After our holiday, Tyler met up with his band and went on their 2020 New Year's Tour. They are heading to Washington, New York, Philadelphia, Charlotte, NC, and Charlston, SC!!! So very excited and proud of them!!!! Will keep you posted...
