Emma got home from Rock Eagle 4-H camp and had a blast!!! She said she didn't even get homesick! Big victory for that girl!!! Was a little scary earlier in the week when I heard that 2 convicts escaped from prison in Putnam County, where the 4-H camp is. But they assured the parents that they were upping the security!
This morning I ran a "NO MERCY" 5K with my tennis pal, Kelly Mendiola. It was a benefit for low income medical care. I now know why it was called, "No Mercy"... We ran on a very hilly trail with rocks and stumps to jump/fall over. One man said he fell down a hill. Kelly and I were jogging at a slow pace and talking and catching up. Then toward the end, it was pretty flat, so we decided to dig deep and sprint the last 2 K's. We passed a bunch of people. I came in 1st in my age group, lol.
When I got home, Keith got a call from Drew asking him if he could bring his truck to the garage sale and pick up some welding equipment that he found. Drew hit the jackpot! He's been wanting his own welding equipment for a while, but it's just so expensive. He got a welder, a grinder, an electric saw, some rods, and other welding accessories. Basically, he got everything he needed to do any kind of welding job. He wants to start doing projects for people on the side. He said he often sees ads on Craigslist for people needing welding done. He works at Tucker Ironworks, but has been wanting to do more artistic welding. He's super excited!
Girls are making homemade ice cream today. They are going to see Cars 3 this afternoon. Boys and their gals will come over tomorrow for a Father's Day cookout!
Kelly Mendiola ready for the race!
