Ellie made the cuts!!! She is officially on the Malcomb Bridge Middle School girls fast pitch softball team for 7th grade!

My tennis partner played girls fast pitch softball for 20 years. She's had 3 of her fingers broken and had to have surgery. She told me the glove is very important! She was sweet enough to come and help me pick it out at the sporting goods store. Turns out Ellie is a lefty when it comes to ball. She's ambidextrious like her mama:) I write left handed and do everything else right handed. Ellie writes right handed and does everything else left handed. It all makes sense now... no wonder she's never been able to cut with scissors. This may open up a whole new world for her. Maybe she needs to try tennis lessons again, but this time with the racket in her left hand???

It takes a village... Hayley used to play girls fast pitch softball! She has all kinds of equipment! When Drew and Hayley found out Ellie was trying out, they brought out Hayley's equipment to help her prepare for her softball tryouts this week. Ellie has never played softball... ever!!! She decided to tryout because she loves kickball in P.E. and she also wanted to get involved in a school activity. A lot of her friends do cheerleading and gymnastics, but that's not Ellie's thing. I took her running and am going to start running with her on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's to help her with her speed and stamina. Keith played baseball in college and was helping her learn to throw, catch, and bat. In fact, they are heading out the door now to play catch in the yard right now!

Oh, and Ellie got contacts this week!!! She can't play ball with glasses. She's been needing a stronger prescription anyway and had been wanting contacts. She's doing great with being able to put them in and take them out every day!
