Next Monday the girls have Meet and Greet and then they will start classes on Wednesday. Emma will be in 2nd grade and Ellie will start Middle School. I hate that they will be attending different schools this year. I'll still drive them both to school and they'll ride the bus home, but their schools start and end at different times. Unfortunately Emma gets home first, so I can never be late. It would help if Ellie got home first, then if I couldn't get home before the bus, Ellie could watch Emma til I got home.
Yesterday Emma was invited to go to Chuckee Cheeses with a friend (that's twice she's been lately). So Alex took Ellie to see a movie at the new theater. Alex recently applied for a job there and they sent him a free movie ticket with his letter of rejection. It's okay though because he got a job at a deli that's opening up soon near 5 points. Anyway, he took Ellie to see Monsters' University. (It's basically Monsters' Inc. 2) Then today, Alex, Drew, and Haley took Ellie and Emma roller skating. I think the girls have had a pretty eventful summer and are ready to go back to school. Emma loves school so much, that she starts asking when she can go back to school right after they let them out for the summer. She loves the structure. Summer is too loosy goosy for her.
This has been the rainiest summer I can ever remember. I guess it's making up for the last 3 years of droughts. Today, I taught 2 of my swim lessons in the rain. That's how it's been most of the summer, lessons on cloudy, rainy days; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to teach many lessons because clear days have been so rare. At least the pool's not cold anymore. Also, the overcast days have probably saved my skin from further sun damage. I thought I'd be done with lessons by now, but I have lessons scheduled through this Friday. I got 2 more calls today, but told them this was my last week.
