Grand finally at the end of Emma's Pre-K graduation performance |
Only one more week of school left! It's been a crazy week! Ellie missed a few days of school because she got poison ivy. She was trying to protect her sister by showing her what poison ivy looks like. She said, "This has 3 leaves, but it's not poison ivy because the stem isn't red." WRONG!!! She must have rubbed it all over her face and body. She even got it in her eye. The doctor gave her some steroid medicine to take. I'm itching just writing about it. It's kind of like when you get the note sent home from school that says, "Check your child for lice because there's been an outbreak in her class."
On Saturday night we went to the park for the annual "Movie in the park". Everyone in the county was there. They had blow up slides, jumpy things, games and prizes. Everyone brought a picnic and blankets and at dark they started the movie on the big blow up screen. It's something we look forward to every year. Alex works at the park, so he spent all day setting up and was directing traffic til 11pm.
We had our typical Sunday group over this morning and had a great time as usual. Afterwards Emma had her Pre-K graduation/performance. I know I may be biased, but I think she was the star of the show! Her class was the first class on stage. She was front and center. She scanned the audience looking for mom and dad. When she found us she went crazy waving and giggling. It got the whole audience laughing. Then she danced and wiggled to the rhythm like she was the star of the show. The girl can dance. (There's a reason she was front and center). At the end of the performance they handed each child a diploma. Emma waved hers in the air with so much pride. "Look mom and dad, I did it!!!" I have it all on video but it's too long for the blog so it won't accept it. And during all of this, Ellie was wiggling a "slightly" loose tooth until she yanked the thing out. Blood was dripping and the people behind us almost got sick. My girl is determined to get rich off the tooth fairy. Yep, a crazy week. Just the way I like it!
