Sweet and Goofy girls!

Movie Review

One thing I don't have much time for in real life, but love to catch up on over the holidays is movies. I keep a running list of movies that I want to see. When I hear good reviews, or see a commercial about a movie that looks interesting, I add it to my list. Eventually when it gets to the "old" releases, I rent them at Vision Video (5 movies for 5 dollars and you can keep them for a week). So if we have a long weekend, sickness, or holidays, that's when we rent movies. I just haven't seen anything good recently... I watched Blindside last night. I love, love, love that movie! For Christmas, I got a few of my all time favorite movies. Over the holidays when they have promos at Wal-mart and Target, you can actually buy them cheeper than renting them. I got Princess Bride (so funny!), I-Robot (awesome movie, Will Smith rocks!), Blindside (beautiful, heart-warming story, and Sandra Bullock is amazing in it!), I wanted to get Dan in Real Life (funny, sweet, romantic, family movie), but it's not a promo yet and I refuse to pay full price when patience will get me a sweet deal! All these movies I could watch again and again and never tire of them. So if you haven't seen them yet, next time you are at the video store, check them out. You'll be glad you did!

Video: Depraved Indifference

Depraved Indifference

This is a moving video that I saw on another blog. If you click the words above, it will link you to her blog where you can watch the video. It's definitely worth the 8 minutes it takes to watch!

Christmas Day 2010

On Christmas morning the girls were up bright and early! They woke up the rest of us, so we tortured them by making them stay in their room until we lit the fire, got our camera's ready, and made a pot of coffee! Then we let them out. They were so cute in their little matching p.j.'s that Mr. and Mrs. Bushe from down the street gave them. They were bubbling over with excitement. The squeals pierced our ears! Wrapping paper began to fly as the girls tore into their presents. Ellie got a new bike and a pink helmet and a couple of games for her DS.  Emma got a new DS and a game for it and a Chinese babydoll. Actually both girls got dolls, but Ellie gave hers to Emma because she decided she's too old for dolls. (I say gave, I mean sold Emma her baby doll.) Both girls were thrilled because Emma really loves baby dolls and Ellie really loves money! Ha! The boys each got some money and a shirt and cap. Emily also got some money and a crockpot cookbook and a Christmas mug (she collects them).
After the last gift was unwrapped, Keith made us all a big breakfast! It was delicious! Then someone turned the music on and our kitchen became a stage. Our boys are a bunch of hams! I've got the funniest video of Tyler dancing to Thriller! This blog will only let me download short video's so unfortunately I won't be able to post it here, but take my word for it... it should be on America's Funniest Home Videos. We laughed so hard!
Then we all got ready and Ty and Em went to have lunch with Emily's family and we went to Marietta to have lunch with my sisters and their families! It began to snow as we were traveling. Wow! A white Christmas! We all met at Jeannie and Jays and brought a dish or two. It was like Thanksgiving all over again! Yummy. After lunch we played Catchphrase and had a blast. Every time we get together, our family grows... Tom's kid's Chris and Amanda brought dates. Amanda's boyfriend has a son around 13. He was really shy, but once we started playing the game, he had us doubled over. The game is such a great icebreaker! After that we bundled up the kids and all went outside for a snowball fight! Jeannie and Jay just added on to their deck. It's awesome! We had to finally head home, but hated to leave everyone.

Update on the boys...

Can't remember where I left off with the boys, but it changes like the wind so here's the latest...

Tyler and Emily are renewing their lease for their apartment. Tyler finished fall semester with 2 A's and a B and is trying to get an internship this summer. Emily loves her job and has a teacher's schedule, so she's off for all the holidays and for the summer. She'll be able go with Tyler if he gets his summer internship and they'll sublease their apt. Tyler should be done with school this time next year.

Alex also finished fall semester with 2 A's and a B. He moved back home over Christmas break. He's gonna live at home while he takes some classes at GSC and try to pay off his student loan. (Ty and Alex both work and pay their tuition while they're in school, but since Alex couldn't find a job at Middle Georgia this past semester, he had to take out his first student loan. Tyler also took out his first student loan this year when he and Emily got married and he transfered to UGA.) Alex is about half way through school and trying to decide on a major.

Drew got a part-time job at UGA (Plant and Soil Division) this year. He was recently hired on full time and transfered from the plant near our house to the plant on campus. He's moving into a loft downtown with about 4 or 5 other guys in January. He will be just minutes from work.

Today is the day after Christmas. I can't believe we had a white Christmas... and it stuck! As I type this, I've got Alex and Emma playing Wii behind me and Ellie is sitting at the table playing with her DS. While waiting for his turn on the wii, Drew started annoying Ellie by 'tap dancing' in front of her. She didn't even look up from her DS. She just said, "Drew, either join a dance club or get some clothes on." (He's in his pj pants and a long sleeve tee.). Drew of coarse didn't quit, but only intensified his dance moves. Then Ellie said, "Drew, why don't you join a gym and get some muscles!" They love to harass each other!

Now the girls are begging me to get them dressed so they can go out and play in the snow. Keith is already out there ready to build a snowman with them. Alex and Drew just ran upstairs to get dressed. I better go. Can't believe we got snow on Christmas!!!

OUT OF SPACE

Blogger notified me that I can't post anymore pictures until I buy more space.  It's like $5.00 for 20gb of photo space for a year. But how many pictures can I put on with 20gb's of space??? I guess we'll see. I'll have to post pictures of Christmas Day later.

We had a great Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve was wonderful! All the kids were home and slept over. We made a big pot of chili... a Nicholson family tradition. Then we had a dance party and played Wii. Our musical kids got out their violin, guitars, and bongos and made beautiful music. They even downloaded some of their songs onto Tyler's website. We sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn, put out milk and cookies for Santa, and put the girls to bed (with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads). Then Keith and I snuggled up to watch "It's a Wonderful Life", while Emily and the boys sat out by the firepit.  Somewhere in the weeee hours, Santa filled all the stockings and left us some wonderful gifts.

Christmas Eve 2010... all the kids came home!
