Spent the day in Athens today and my heart is full!

First stop, Drew and Lainey! When Laine smiles, she lights up the room. Drew and I went to get a Latte and Lainey was tired and cried in the car. But Drew played “The Happy Song” and she immediately quit crying. It’s like magic, when the song ends, she cries and he plays it again and she immediately stops crying!🀷‍♀️🀦‍♀️🀣

Second stop was lunch with Ellie! Can’t believe she’s moving to Ohio! James and Ellie are getting an apartment there and will be apartment hunting at the end of the month. James got accepted in the masters/doctorate program and Ellie will be applying. She has been interviewing for jobs in Ohio meanwhile. She got one offer today, but is waiting on the others before she decides.

Third stop, Lane Creek house! Tripp looks just like Keith. He is so adorable! And Piper is a hoot, as always. That girl has so much personality and cracks us up. She said “Mimi” today and she walked several steps from Alex to her Mimi! She also climbed in Tripp’s baby swing and kept saying, “weeee!”

Emma came over after work and I brought her my big suitcase and packing cubes and some of my skirts, tops, a dress, shoes, and purses for her upcoming trip to Italy. Sam’s family treats her as their own daughter They are so good to her. They are all leaving for Italy Sunday for 10 days!❤️

Only ones I didn’t get to see this trip was Ty and Em, but they are both doing great!

Piper climbs up the side of the ball pit and does a belly flop in to it. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Grandbabies!!!πŸ’™πŸ’–πŸ’™πŸ’–

Haha! Piper found a tampon in Leah’s closet and Alex was trying to take it away and put her to bed, but she wouldn’t give it up. Lol, some battles aren’t worth fighting!

Piper finally took her first steps at 18 months!

Haha! She’s been in no hurry to walk. Why walk when you can be carried!🀷‍♀️πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Alex and Leah and Drew and Hayley got their babies together!

Alex is holding Lainey in last 2 pictures and Tripp is sleeping in the stroller. At first glance I thought he was holding Tripp and thought, wow Tripp has grown overnight!🀣🀦‍♀️

Quick trip to Alabama!

Unfortunately, the trip wasn’t planned. We were on our way to Athens for a party Friday night and got a call that Scott’s dad was in a bad car accident, so we turned around and went back to Duluth and packed our suitcases and asked Brandon’s friend Alex to watch the 3 dogs while we’re gone. Saturday morning we headed to Livingston, AL.

At about 2:00 Friday afternoon, a car was coming fast off the exit and never stopped and ran smack into the side of Papa’s truck. (The family calls Scott’s parents Nana and Papa.) Papa’s dog Max was in the truck with him, Max goes everywhere with Papa. They got Max out of the truck, but they had to cut Papa out.

They took Papa to the hospital in town but it wasn’t equipped for his injuries, so they airlifted him to the Mobile Trauma Center. He had 8 broken ribs, a bruised lung, and some deep gashes and bruises on his arm and a few on his shoulder.

Sunday morning, we took Max to the vet to get checked out before heading to Mobile about 3 hours from Livingston. Max had some blood in one ear and some in his eye. He may have had a concussion. They gave him a shot and some pain medicine. Scott’s son, Brandon came to stay with Max and keep up the farm while we went to Mobile to see Papa. Nana and Scott, and I stayed in a hotel in near the hospital in Mobile so we could visit Papa every day. He was in a lot of pain!

Thankfully Papa is doing incredibly well despite the painful broken ribs and Max seems to be doing better everyday.

We were able to bring Papa home last night and he and Max were so happy to see each other! The PT came to the house this morning and was impressed with Papa’s progress. Papa is 82 years old, but very strong and determined!

We’re heading out today and Scott’s sister and her husband will come in and stay with Nana and Papa until Labor Day.

Max loves to ride on the golfcart!

Livingston is a small town in Alabama near University of West Alabama. Scott and his dad bought 100 acres with a little farmhouse on it about 30 years ago.

They remodeled and asded onto the little farmhouse and made it a 6 bedroom home with a wrap around porch. They later added a big screened in porch with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen!

A few years later they purchased about 600 acres of land about 10 minutes from the other property and built some camp houses. That’s where Scott and I usually stay when we visit if it’s not rented to hunters or fishermen.

Nana and papa moved from Altlanta to Livingston in 1998 and made it their permanent home. They love it out there. It is so peaceful and beautiful!
